About Us

Our Beginning
It was early 2009, the height of the financial crisis. We were working at some of the world's top funds, where we were helping to successfully manage billions of dollars for the world's wealthy elite. Like much of America, due to our busy schedules, we trusted our personal IRAs and 401Ks to brokers, and saw much of our savings vanish. We asked ourselves a question. Without the resources available to the wealthy, how can everyday investors easily manage their own portfolios, and prevent this from happening again?

Our Call to Action
Much of what we found online contained outdated investing techniques and rudimentary technology. We went to work to build simple, yet powerful tools, based on the latest in portfolio theory, that the everyday investor could use to analyze and manage their own portfolio. Combining years of research and hands on experience, we developed dozens of proprietary and patentable pieces of technology. These revolutionary tools make managing a portfolio easy and effective.

Our Mission
We left our jobs on Wall Street in the middle of the worst economic crisis in decades to bring the style of investing used by the wealthy elite to you. Our goal at Hedgeable is to make every American feel empowered to take control of their financial future.

Our Founding Team
Michael Kane, CEO, Co-Founder
Mike is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hedgeable. He formerly worked at Spruce Private Investors, a $2.0 billion ultra high net worth money manager and fund of funds with clients including large endowments, charities, and family offices, twice nominated by InvestHedge for Fund of Funds of the Year. Prior to Spruce, Mike was at Bridgewater Associates, an $80 billion fixed income, currency, and commodities manager, with clients including foreign governments, major pension funds, and corporations. Mike is an avid international traveler, adventurer, sports fanatic, and cooking enthusiast. He is originally from Northeast Philadelphia, and resides in New York City.

Matthew Kane, CTO, Co-Founder
Matt is the Co-Founder and CTO of Hedgeable. He formerly was the founder of the Web 2.0 site Whooligan.com, a social soccer brand targeting emerging markets throughout Latin America and Eastern Europe. Prior to his entrepreneurial endeavors, he worked in credit trading at a $2 billion multi-strategy hedge fund seeded by SAC Capital. When he is not sleeping under his desk, Matt loves college football and basketball, international travel, country music, current events, and playing sports. He is originally from Northeast Philadelphia, and resides in New York City.
